Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 9x13-inch baking dish
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Sharp knife
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Aluminum foil

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray or oil.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and heat it until shimmering.
  3. Add the sliced beef steak to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic into the skillet. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, cream cheese, and half of each cheese (cheddar and provolone). Stir until smooth.
  6. Pour the cheese mixture over the beef and vegetable mixture in the skillet. Mix well to combine everything evenly.
  7. Transfer the entire mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  8. Top the casserole with the remaining shredded cheddar and provolone cheese.
  9. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the top is bubbly and golden.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes or in the microwave until heated through.
Variations:
- Swap the beef for thinly sliced chicken breast for a lighter option.
- Add mushrooms or zucchini for extra vegetables.
- Use different types of cheese like gouda or pepper jack for a unique flavor.
- Make it spicy by adding jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
- For a vegan version, replace beef with jackfruit and use plant-based cheese.
