Equipment

  • 1 Large cutting board
  • 1 Sharp knife
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Basting brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage head and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper to create a flavorful marinade.
  4. Brush both sides of the cabbage steaks generously with the marinade using a basting brush.
  5. Place the cabbage steaks on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and tender.
  7. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh chopped parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet and warm them in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10-15 minutes or until heated through.
Variations:
- Add a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese before roasting for a cheesy twist.
- Try different herbs like rosemary or basil for a unique flavor profile.
- Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Experiment with different oils such as avocado oil for a different taste.
- Serve with a squeeze of lemon juice for added brightness.
